Have you ever watched a TED Talk? TED talks are short speeches, presentations, monologues (they have many titles and descriptions) given by people who know what they are talking about. A TED Talk is often as inspiring as it is informative and I try to listen to at least a couple a week. Some I go back and listen to or watch again.
My favourite this week has been The Happy Secret to Better Work by Shawn Achor.
Shawn is the CEO of Good Think Inc where he researches and teaches positive psychology. This a fast-moving, very amusing and yet insightful talk which makes you look differently at how to achieve productivity, how to be happy and more.
You don’t need a TED Talk account to watch this obviously, however, I set up a free account so that I could save the various TED Talk videos I’ve watched and enjoyed. Hopefully, this is one that you will enjoy just as much as I have. Without giving the content away, I’d love to hear your thoughts on his positive psychological outlook when it comes to being better at work. To me, it makes perfect sense. I’ve already adopted some of the things he suggests, however, didn’t think of them having anything to do with work. The brain works in mysterious ways and yet Shawn is one of those clever folks who seem to have quite the knack for working out how we may maximise the brain’s power to benefit our daily lives.
Have a watch!
